​Trauma has no expiration date and healing has no timeline.

Do you ever feel stuck? The same intrusive thoughts replaying over and over again? That feeling can be described as a hamster in a never ending wheel, and getting off seems impossible. Others would describe this feeling like observing a washing machine, going round and round. However you choose to describe it, these feelings can be draining. 

This is what anxiety, depression, PTSD and other mental health conditions can feel like - never ending and exhausting.  Yet despite these feelings you are not alone. I am happy you’re reading this, because this means you’re looking for a healthier way of living - you are choosing YOU.  

We were never meant to go through this healing journey alone and I am sorry if you’ve ever felt that in order to survive, you could only trust and count on yourself. When we go through experiences in life like abuse, distressful events, heartbreak, attachment trauma, illness, loss and grief, and life changes, etc., it can be hard to believe that there is a life out there that’s not based on hurt and survival. I’m not saying it’s easy... it’ll be a complex and unique journey but a healthier life is possible. Together, we can process your story, learn your triggers, and find what works for YOU.

Trauma has no expiration date - there is no date in which trauma just "goes away." Some people take weeks, months, years, to heal - and that’s okay! Healing doesn’t have a timeline and it is not linear. No two people will heal the same way and it can feel like you are taking one step forward and 3 steps back, however you’re still healing! As you continue your journey towards healing, I hope you allow yourself to be proud of the progress you’ve made and will continue to make as you move forward. ​

The name Mustard Seed Counseling comes from Matthew 17:20, it is a reminder that all we need is a little bit of faith to be able to move mountains. Mustard Seed Counseling LLC practices with the idea that we are all people helping people; we are put on this earth to show each other love, compassion, and grace.

I am originally from New York City and currently residing in Florida. I am an LCSW in New York, Florida, and Texas. I have experience working within the criminal justice system in NYC, working with children with special needs, psychiatric care, homeless population, substance use, and mental health. My focus is trauma informed care and I practice with the intention of healing by identifying your strengths, in partnership with evidence-based methods of healing. I am trained/have experience in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and faith based counseling.

I believe services should be available to all and provide a judgement free zone. I am Spanish speaking, but my Spanglish is better.
